Annndddd...it's here!  Spring in Southeastern Ohio.  And it's coming on full bore just as it does every year.  For someone who's flame is fueled by Nature, springtime is God's breath that makes the fire rise and dance.  I just can't get enough of it.  Laying in bed one night thinking about my hellebores (I really do think about things other than flowers, but this blog is supposed to be about flowers, right?), I thought of an idea for a photo shoot.  It just so happens I have a darling friend, originally from Muldova, named Anastasia who is a budding photographer and very creative.   It's nice to have a friend who plays along with your fantastical whims.  It just so happened a friend of mine was coming over with her daughters that same day.  Her eldest is at that age where natural beauty is innate, so as the kids played together I whipped up a floral crown for her with my garden hellebores.  For her first photo shoot ever, she did beautifully!

I adore how Hannah's freckles match the freckles on the hellebores.  Photo by Anastasia Yost.

And here it is!  This bouquet, which came entirely from my garden, is created with spicebush, star magnolia, cherry blossoms, wild and cultivated daffodils and hellebores. Flower photos by Caroline.
